Downtown Minneapolis’ North Loop neighborhood is by far one of the Twin Cities fastest growing and most vibrant neighborhoods. With a massive new food hall, new music venue, and a seemingly constant stream of restaurants and bars popping up, the North Loop is the place to be to enjoy Minneapolis nightlife at its finest. And it wouldn’t be a Twin Cities neighborhood without a strong brewery scene, so here are the eight breweries you should be quenching your thirst in when visiting the North Loop (and a few just north of downtown).

The German beers are the star of the show at Utepils. Ewald the Golden Eagle, a classic hefeweizen with notes of banana, is a perfect brew to enjoy on the newly opened beer garden that sits overlooking Bassett Creek.

A community driven space located in the Harrison neighborhood, La Dona Cerveceria keeps its 10,000 square foot space chalk full of Latino and Minnesota influences. Unlike most other breweries and taprooms, The Freehouse pours other breweries beers alongside their own. That is how confident the team behind the “breakfast to beer” brewpub is in their steady stable of beers. The tap list features four constant beers (the Kolsch, IPA, Brown Ale, and Stout) as well as a rotating selection including a light Blueberry Blonde and a Belgian Golden Strong swimming with spices.
