This kit was $35 from the Sleep Styler website.

Crystal thought the Sleep Stylers were quite a bit of work.

Crystal: I'm lazy with a capital "L," but I also like having ~good~ hair, so this product sounded like a dream come true. After washing my hair, I let it air dry for about 45 min while I caught up on some TV. Styling my damp (not WET) hair (per the directions) wasn't hard per say, but it was kind of an annoying process. Getting a hang of how to put the rollers in without them slipping back out took a few practice tries. It took me about 15 minutes to get all the rollers in, which isn't a ton of time, but if you factor in the time I waited to get my hair "damp," we're talking about at least a hour's worth of styling time.

She also felt that sleeping in the rollers was...well, awkward.

Crystal: Sleeping in these wasn't super uncomfortable, but it wasn't like I DIDN'T feel them, either. It was like sleeping on a very lumpy pillow, which isn't ideal. Also? Two of my rollers fell out overnight (I'm a messy sleeper, what can I say?), which was disappointing. It might work better to use a shower cap or something OVER these when you sleep.

After styling her hair, Crystal felt her ~waves~ looked pretty good.

Crystal: The rollers definitely worked for the front half of my head, but since those two rollers on the back of my head came out during the night, my hair in the back was pretty flat and did not look as nice as the front. Overall, though, I did get a good bit of volume out of the rollers, so if I can figure out how to deal with the ones at the back of my head, this would be a 100% success.

It took Farrah a solid 40 minutes to get the hang of putting the curlers in her hair.

    Farrah Penn / BuzzFeed

Farrah: I'm not sure what I was doing wrong?? Maybe my method of rolling was terrible or I grabbed too much hair? It took a while for these to stop falling down after I'd roll the hair up, so they just sorta dangled all over my head like Christmas tree ornaments.

She FINALLY got all the curlers in and was surprised she wasn't more uncomfortable falling asleep.

    Farrah Penn / BuzzFeed

Farrah: Oh my god, I was SO focused on putting these babies in and getting them to STAY. Does it feel like you have something on your head? Yes, of course. But it was more comfortable than I expected. However, I move around a lot so I did lose two causalities in the middle of the night toward the back of my head!

Here's what my hair looked like immediately after taking out the curlers:

    Farrah Penn / BuzzFeed

Farrah: Yes, the first thing I did at 7 a.m. was wake up and take these pics. I AM NOT QUITE AWAKE YET OK??? My initial thought was, "Wow I am underwhelmed." But also, "DANG look at all that volume!"

But after some light brushing and styling, she liked the lift and loose curls the Sleep Styler gave her.

    Farrah Penn / BuzzFeed

Farrah: I didn't use any type of hairspray because I wanted to see how the curls would hold up naturally. My hair is clearly not as bouncy as it was first thing in the morning, but the volume held up pretty well!

In the end, both Crystal and Farrah were fairly impressed with how the Sleep Stylers worked for them.

    ABC

Crystal: Overall, I think these do exactly what they say they will do. But, I think these are better for people who already spend time in the morning styling their hair, but want to save time in the morning. Because, if you don't already dedicate that time in your routine, this might be to big an adjustment for everyday looks.

Farrah: I would imagine the longer curlers give longer hair move of an actual wave since shorter hair can be a bit tricker, but I was super impressed with amount of volume these gave me! If I fall asleep with wet hair, my hair is flat and messy. But this basically allowed me to wake up with great hair and cut back on the time it takes me to get ready in the morning. Granted, you still have to do the grunt of the work at night, but I think it's worth it if you're like me and press snooze a *little* too many times in the morning.

Wanna try getting some lazy-girl curls? The Sleep Stylers can be purchased on their site for $35.
